Installation

1. Download Orbis from the WordPress repository.
2. Download the Orbis theme from Github.
3. Activate both the plugin and the theme.
4. Download and install the Members plugin to set the capabilities for your users.
5. Done.

Setup your theme

Orbis is easy the use. It just makes use of standard WordPress functionalities. First of all you need a ‘Dashboard’ and a ‘News’ page. Just add this pages via Pages from the WordPress menu.

Now you need to let WordPress know that this pages are used for the frontpage and the default posts functionality. Go to Settings > Reading and set the ‘Front page’ and ‘Posts page’.

Widgets

The frontpage is made up of widgets. You can manage those widgets under Appearance > Widgets.

Protection

Orbis can be protected from outsiders in different ways. The easiest way is to install the members plugin and redirect logged-out users to the login page.

Another way is to block your environment based of IP-address.

Add a menu

You can use the standard WordPress menu functionality to add you’re own custom menu. Go to Appearance > Menus.

Go to orbis menu management if you need further assistance with menu management.
