Orbis uses the default WordPress functionality to manage your Orbis menu. Let’s dive into this flexible en easy to use WordPress functionality. You must go through several steps.
- Go to Appearance > Menus
- Create a new menu and name it ‘Main menu’.
- Connect the new menu to the ‘Primary menu’ theme location.
- You can now drag and drop the menu items in this menu.
- Dont’ forget to save the menu.
By default WordPress doesn’t support links to archive pages. It’s very easy to do though. Just add a new link to your archive page. You can add the custom link http://www.yourdomain.com/persons/ to make a link to your persons archive. For the companies this would http://www.yourdomain.com/companies/. This works for all post types.
Menu icons
Since Orbis 2.0 it is possible to add icons in your menu. You can use every icon from Font Awesome. It’s quite easy to add an icon. Activate the ‘CSS classes’ option under the Screen Options in the menu section. You can add a class to change the icon. You must use the icon-* notation. For example, you can use icon-dashboard to show a dashboard icon.
